WHAT: Learn how to work trail cameras in this information filled workshop led by Josh Morse. Josh is part of the Fish & Wildlife Department’s outreach team, where he leads outdoor workshops and uses photo, video, and audio to tell the stories of conservation in Vermont. He has a BA in biology from Oberlin College and a PhD in the human dimensions of wildlife from the University of Vermont. The first half of this workshop will be in a Middlebury College classroom to see footage on a projector from a real trail camera. We will then transition to an outdoor space on campus where Josh will give us a trail camera demo!

What are trail cameras?: Trail cameras offer a window into the lives of your local wildlife, and they are easy to get started to boot! Using some basic tracking and photography skills, we’ll learn where the best spots for trail cameras are and how to get the best photos and videos out of your model. We’ll also talk about basic guidelines for using trail cameras with respect to other outdoor recreators and on shared conservation land
