Winter Tracking with VT Fish & Wildlife

WHEN: February 1st, 3:00PM - 4:00PM

WHERE: Hurd Grassland

WHO: This event is appropriate for families and people of all ages interested in tracking who can walk for a few miles in possibly snowy conditions.

COST: FREE! With generous support from the community and partnering organizations, we are able to make all of our public programs free. Consider supporting work like this program by becoming a MALT Member!

REGISTER: Please complete this form to confirm attendance.

WHAT: Tracks in the snow are a fun and easy way to learn about the wildlife who call your favorite park or trail system home. Join MALT and the Vermont Fish & Wildlife for an introduction to wildlife tracking at Hurd Grassland in early February! We’ll learn to recognize the tracks of common species like bobcat, coyote, fisher, and more, and spend some time exploring the habitats along the TAM.

 Event Highlights:

  • Binoculars/field guide (if desired, but not necessary)

  • Water & snacks

  • Weather appropriate clothing (TIP: fleece and wool make great base layers. Cotton will NOT keep you warm!)

  • This event is WEATHER DEPENDENT. We will cancel this event if there is not snow on the ground.

CANCELLATION POLICY: MALT operates programs outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. If weather conditions are hazardous (lightning, sustained winds >30m.p.h.), MALT may cancel the program. If that is the case, you will receive notification via email.
