What is the TAM Trek?
The TAM Trek is a trail race and fun run to raise funds for the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM). The Middlebury Area Land Trust started building the TAM in 1989 and it now encircles the village of Middlebury, traveling through Cornwall, Weybridge, and New Haven. It links several hundred acres of town land, MALT conserved properties, schools, and other local landmarks over the course of 19 scenic miles. Read race details and register here.
Each year, it costs MALT over $50,000 to maintain this community gem, your race entry fee directly helps with these costs!
TAM swag for everyone! This year participants get a TAM winter hat and an option to upgrade to a TAM tech shirt.

Who races?
There is a race for everyone at TAM Trek. Our 19-mile course attracts serious trail runners from our local community, around the state, and outside of Vermont. We also offer a challenging 10K and 5K course for runners looking for a shorter and equally scenic race. Our 2-mile family fun run attracts families and run/walkers from around Addison County. Everyone starts and finishes in Wright Park and celebrates at the finish line with live music, GREAT local raffle prizes, and the best post-race buffet around.
What makes TAM Trek unique?
You see it all at TAM Trek. Hill top vistas of the Adirondacks, lookouts over the Greens, Addison County pastoral scenes, old growth forest, stretches along pristine areas of Otter Creek, local neighborhoods (preschoolers cheer you on at Aurora Preschool, the first aid station!), 2 MALT-built suspension bridges over stunning waterfalls and gorges, climbing up and over cow stiles, and secret maple syrup stations in the woods. Come on over to the TAM and join us for miles of fun!
Don’t miss great opportunities to train for TAM Trek in Addison County! We have good friends and neighbors who offer the Goshen Gallop in July, the Vermont Sun Series, and Moosalamoo Ultra in August.
