BACKPACKS, BOOTS, AND BINOCULARS

ensures MALT has the resources to:

  • Pilot a Citizen Science land stewardship program, activating local volunteers to monitor and steward MALT's 3,500 acres of locally conserved land

  • Improve habitat for birds and other wildlife - the next 3 years will focus on Wright Park, Salisbury Mills, and Otter View Park

  • Maintain and improve MALT's 30 miles of trail, including the TAM

  • Expand environmental education programming for children, families, and adults on MALT's conserved lands

  • Hire a GIS Intern to map future land conservation priorities and values

Did you know?

The TAM passes through only 600 acres of the 3,500 acres conserved by MALT. In addition to managing and maintaining the TAM, MALT also conserves local landscapes for habitat, natural resources, viewsheds, education, and more.  On these lands, we engage over 300 annual participants in our nature-based programming, building a vibrant environmental ethic across generations and throughout our community.
